George and Susana Gomez Family 1935 Anadarko, OK at the G. R. Gomez home where they lived for 18 years on the Bert Mcvey Farm 2 3/4 East of Anadarko on Highway 9 before moving to town. After the U. S. Army had taken 4 of his sons to war, the younger children helped with the farm work. After the war with the return of his sons, George moved to town and bought his home at 602 East Kentucky. Back row standing against the house, left to right: Jack, Jim, Juanita and Joe Gomez. Front row left to right: small boy Sammy, David, Gene, Father George Gomez Holding Mary in his lap, Rosie bare foot, Mother Susana Gomez, Freddy, Nelly and Maggie Gomez. Susie Gomez was not born yet. This was taken at our home in the country at Bert McVey Farm, east of town. Taken around 1935 because Aunt Mary was born December 28,1934, almost the last day of 1934.

The McVey Farm Band from Anadarko, OK. Both the Gomez and Leal families performed together. Bert Mcvey (in Mexican attire), our Uncle Jack C Gomez, Jesse (not related), our Uncle Joe C Gomez, Della Leal and her brother, Alfred Leal. Taken on Broadway Street in Anadarko, OK during the Indian Fair. For the Indian Fair Parade, Bert Mcvey had a float with the Gomez Family aboard. The Bert McVey Farm Band performed at a street dance for the festivities. |
